The Judicial System in Reichskommissariat Ukraine and the Fate

of Its Employees after the Reestablishment of Soviet Power

In 1941, the occupying military administration created judicial bodies, which

after the transfer of the relevant territories to the Reichskommissariat “Ukraine” were transformed into civil and criminal courts. The workers in the occupation legal field mainly cooperated to survive the extreme conditions of Hitlerite occupation. When the Soviet government was re-established, they were considered enemies and strongly repressed.

Alina Ivanenko is professor at ‘Chernihiv Collegium’ (Ukraine) and associate professor in Mannheim University (Germany).
