The Politics of Ukrainian Cinema at International Film Festivals
Despite Ukraine’s renowned cinematic heritage and diverse storytelling traditions, geopolitical factors influence the selection and presentation of Ukrainian films at the international film festivals. Based on a mixedmethods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses, this researc analyzes the representation of Ukrainian films in international film festivals, delving into the political implications of programming choices.
Darya Levchenko is the program coordinator of the Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festivals in Kyiv (Ukraine).
